That I would rather take an F-Type R over a 911 Turbo. Since I can't get 3-pedals in the turbo, I would rather look damn good and smoke some tires. Of course I am doing the typical internet doofus thing and deciding between two cars I will never afford. But you can read a review about the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

You'd save a huge chunk of change up front as well.
But I have to say that wouldn't a Carrera S be the more appropriate comparison point?

Yes...but both have about 550hp so I was just looking at it from a performance perspective

F-Type R - $99k
991 Carrera S - $99k
991 Turbo - $148k
991 Turbo S - $181k

Hey, at least Jag has promised that a manual is in the works.

Price, top speed and 0-60 times are all fairly comparable between the 911 S and the the F-Type R. HP notwithstanding.

More style for less cash!

I'd rather eat farts than have any 911, so I agree with you.

Jaaag -550hp
Turbo S- 560hp
Sure the Porsche is going to be a little quicker, but I venture the Jag is more fun for almost half the price.

All true...though I am curious to see some real world test numbers on the R

Bet a dealership franchise owner could get one...hint, hint, wink, wink!
![]() 01/13/2014 at 14:09 |

Sure, but the real world results of the 911 are almost always better than the metrics posted in Porsche's promotional materials (except top speed).

haha...If I had the kind of money to start a dealership franchise I would just buy a F-type, an E63 Wagon, as Singer 911, and an E30 M3 and call it a day.

The 911 Turbo prices itself out of this one for me, F-Type Coupe all the way!

Promised??? Really? If this is true I'm selling both my kidney's, my liver, and going to sell my seed at the sperm bank!!!

Never say never ;)

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with the Jaaaag mind you. Just that the Jag costs more like a 991 C2S than a Turbo.

"If this is true I'm selling both my kidney's, my liver, and going to sell my seed at the sperm bank !!"
Hey man, every little bit counts right?

I would take the F-Type over any 911 besides for the GT variants and the Turbo. Because good god that thing is gorgeous.
